Yeah, History is full of killing, however USA doesn't go too hard on its own people as USSR did. So you can say USA has done better in terms of self management. Besides, America treats allies like friends( ex. Marshall plan and the reconstruction of japan), USSR treated allies like slaves?the radical change? of eastern Europe). I mean look at the world around you, every country on America's side is wealthy and democracy, every country on USSR side is poor and crazy, like North Korean and Vietnam.
